Stan's Message - 3rd Qtr 2008
It is time for us to prepare for beginning our new "Connection Groups" in homes and our "On Mission Groups" this September. I am asking all of us to prayerfully consider making a commitment to being in a Connection Group and an On Mission Group. I believe it will be a great help in leading us to be missionaries to our community.
We all need to "Stay Connected" by forming relationships with other Christians and with non-Christians. This is best accomplished by being a part of a small group. That is why we have our Sunday morning Connection Groups, and that is why we are starting some Home Connection Groups. It is important for every member of our church family to be in one of these groups. Please, make the commitment to one of the Sunday morning groups, or if that doesn't fit your schedule, then, sign up for a Home Connection Group. There will be sign up sheets for the home groups on the tables during our worship services.
The On Mission Groups will lead us through the entire Masterlife discipleship process. These groups will equip us to "Stay Focused" and to "Stay On Mission." If you have already mastered the material and assignments in Book 1, then you can sign up to begin in Book 2. The main thing is to make the commitment to finish the Masterlife process. My wife, Chris, and I, as well as several others like the Sledges and the Turners, will be leading our On Mission groups beginning in September. These groups will be scheduled on Sunday evenings and at other times, according to the best time for the members of the group. Please, sign up on the lists on the tables, and let us know if you want to start in Book 1, or if you are ready for Book 2. Later, we will decide when and where your group will meet.
I am excited to see what God will do in our church family as we make these commitments and yield ourselves to Jesus as His missionaries to our community.
