Stan Jordan- Senior Pastor

I am glad you have found our web site for NHBC. I want to give you a little information about my family, myself, and my ministry experiences. I have been married to my wife, Chris, for 38 years. We have 3 children who are married and have children of their own, Lori, Dixie, and John. Lori and her husband, Jeff, are missionaries serving in Japan. They have 2 children, Kade and Avenly. Dixie and her husband, Stacy White, have 4 children, Robert, Caitlyn, Jacob, and Joshua. They are members of NHBC. John and his wife, Gao Foua, have a daughter, Mercy, and they live in Alquippa, PA. As you can see, God has blessed our family in a wonderful way. I grew up in Decatur, GA attending Midway Elementary School and Avondale High School. Chris is a graduate of Towers High School in Decatur. I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior at Peachcrest Baptist Church in 1970 at the age of 14. I had attended there since I was 6 years old, and I finally gave my life to the Lord on Palm Sunday. Then, I received a very clear call to the ministry when I was 17 years old, so I prepared for the ministry by attending Baylor University in Waco, TX and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. While at Baylor, I was Youth and Music Director at Downsville Baptist Church near Waco. While at SWBTS, I was pastor of Smith Bend Baptist Church in Bosque County, TX. Then, I returned to Decatur to pastor Peachcrest Baptist Church for 4 years and Clairmont Baptist Church for 4 years. In 1992 the Lord called us to pastor the Bayshore Baptist Church in La Porte, TX, a suburb of Houston. We served there until 2001 when North Henry called me to be their pastor. I used to play baseball and golf, but now most of my time is spent with our grandchildren. I am a runner, and I try to stay in shape. The passion of my life is to do the Lord’s work and see a movement of God to bring many people here and around the world to know Christ. It is a joy to be able to be a part of God’s family and to work in His kingdom.
Allen Huber – Minister to Students
You can’t outrun God, no matter how hard you may try.  God has shown himself faithful even when at times I have not been faithful to him. I was honored to have a mother who showed me the love of Christ.  Through her faithful testimony she showed me that I needed a savior and lead me to faith in Christ when I was in elementary school.  Eventually God would begin to work on my heart to enter the ministry and specifically work with students. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Luther Rice Bible College and Seminary, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Liberty University and I have an Education Specialist degree from Walden University.  Currently I am pursuing my Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
I have been married for almost 13 years to Jessica and we have a son named Riley. Both love the Lord and are passionate about seeing others come to faith in Christ. We are from the Savannah, GA area and moved up here 4 years ago. Through the years I served as youth pastor in several churches in South Georgia.  Most recently I served as the Associate Pastor/Student Pastor at FBC Forest Park.  I am passionate about seeing students become disciples and own their faith so future generations can come to know Christ!
My favorite verses are James 1:1-10, 2 Timothy 4:2 and Isaiah 65:24.

 13Lee Sledge- Worship Leader

Thanks to godly parents, I was raised in a Christian home in church for bible study and worship on a regular basis. With all of the great influences in my life and exposure to God’s word, I accepted Christ at the age of 7. Shortly after graduating from Ga Tech in 1988, I married my high school sweetheart (and still my sweetheart), Penny. God has blessed us with 3 wonderful children (Amanda, Jared and Zachary), who are all now young adults and involved in ministries of their own (worship, youth, D-Groups).

Penny and I have lived in the Stockbridge area since 1996 and have been members of NHBC since the fall of 1996. In March 2003, I began serving as the Worship Leader for North Henry. The fact that God is using me in this role is just a testimony that he uses “ordinary people” to do His work. God began preparing me for this ministry when I learned music in the 4th grade by playing trumpet and kept that up through High School. After Penny and I married, I joined the choir just so that she would and we’ve been involved with Music Ministry ever since.

In addition to leading Worship and working with the choir, I teach an Adult Connection Group Class, serve as Moderator and as a Deacon.

One of my favorite bible passages is Romans 8: 37-39. “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Kyle & Amanda Denton- Worship Coordinators

Kyle and I were both blessed to be raised in Christian homes by loving parents, and were both brought up at North Henry. The youth group was very influential on both of us; Kyle had played in the praise band for most all of his time there, and he also had the opportunity to coordinate services and design the stage. Later, I was given the opportunity as well to sing and lead the praise band.  Doing these things were how Kyle and I met and learned to share our love of music and worship together. We were married in September of 2016 and are continuously amazed by God’s provision and guidance in our lives. Now, we are very thankful and blessed by the opportunity to serve as worship coordinator at NHBC.  Psalm 100:2 says to “Worship the Lord with gladness.” We hope you will join us in praising His name!

Rhonda Ryan- Ministry Assistant/Financial Secretary

I was raised in a Godly, Christian home.  I thought I had accepted Christ around 5 years of age but  I knew that I could not remember praying when I was 5 years old.  At the age of 13, I was under conviction and went to the altar to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior!  I have worked in various ministries at the church such as: Awana Sparks Teacher, Awana Secretary, Children’s Music Ministry, Ladies Bible Study Leader, Youth Worker, and am now serving on the Ladies Ministry Team.
I have been married to Ted Ryan for 29 years. We have 3 children: Jacob, Rachel, and Jessica. We like to camp and enjoy spending time together as a family.  My favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10.
